They are also very social and love having a visitor, like our grandaughter, to entertain them. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fun information about Kiko goats!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The word Kiko comes from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rarebreeds.co.nz\/kiko.html\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.rarebreeds.co.nz\/kiko.html\">Maori word for &#8220;meat&#8221;<\/a>. They breed was developed in the 1980s and came to the US in the 1990s. Unlike other meat goat breeds, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rarebreeds.co.nz\/kikoa.html\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.rarebreeds.co.nz\/kikoa.html\">Kiko goat does well in the US and specifically in Kentucky<\/a> due to the simliar climate and land of New Zealand. They have a higher degree of parasite resistance\/resilience and fewer hoof and respiratory issues.
